Our Objective
Our objective is to work in close collaboration with each child and family to enhance the child’s ability to participate in family, home and school life. We aim to improve a child’s ability to overcome emotional, physical, sensory, communicative and behavioural challenges to increase confidence and participation in all aspects of their lives.
Our Philosophy
At Kids Biz, therapy is individualised, family centred and play based. We use DIR Floortime as our overarching therapeutic approach which comprises of a comprehensive framework that enables the therapist to work in conjunction with parents to identify children's specific challenges and concerns. Therapy is then based on working with the family and child to overcome these difficulties in order to enhance communication, cognition and relationship to increase participation at home, school and social situations.
Therapy aims to facilitate the goals and strengths of the family to ensure the family is supported and encouraged throughout the therapy process.
All therapy is play based which involves the therapist actively engaging in the interests of the child. This enable the therapist to develop a strong rapport whilst challenging them to overcome their individual difficulties. We want to ensure that all children enjoy coming to our clinic and can have fun whilst learning and growing.
Most importantly, we believe that each family is unique so we ensure that therapy is carefully examined for each individual family so it is closely tailored to meet the needs of each individual family and child. For this reason, although our clinic uses DIR Floortime as an overall approach our therapist are also trained and experience in many other treatment approaches.
