Medicare Rebates
There are a number of Medicare rebates that can be used to subsidise therapy costs.
They are listed as follows.

Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative
This Medicare scheme allows children with a mental health issue to be referred to individual and/or group session by a mental health care professional. To be eligible for this service a Mental Health Care Plan (Item 2710) must be completed by your GP following an assessment of your child. This initiative allows for up to 12 sessions per calendar year, or 18 sessions under exceptional circumstances.

Enhanced Primary Care
This entitles your child to a total of five subsidised allied health sessions per calendar year. In order to obtain this funding you must first get an assessment or referral from your GP.
Helping Children with Autism Initiative
This covers families who have a child with a diagnosis of Autism. Under this scheme families can receive up to 20 subsidised sessions of clinical psychological therapy.

Kids Biz are also approved provider of services for children registered with DSC.

Private Health Insurance
Our allied health services are also covered under most private health plans. Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology and Speech therapy are registered with Medicare, Medibank Private and HBF and most other private health funds. We can also register as a provider for other health funds if necessary.
